It was a gorgeous North Texas spring morning as 100 guests arrived at McKinney Roots for the first stop of our annual SPF Farm Tour.
North Texas Farm-to-Table Symposium | Mike Bell
Our next Symposium featured local farmer Mike Bell from Dallas Half Acre Farm. Mike grows diversified fruits and vegetables with an emphasis on year-round salad production profitably on his tiny half-acre lot, distributing the produce through a hyper local network of customers.
Our Impact in 2022
Without a doubt, 2022 was the Seed Project Foundation’s biggest year ever, thanks to your support. We’re so proud of all the food we’ve grown, nonprofits we’ve supported, and new partners we’ve made in the community. Here’s a quick look at our impact this year!
North Texas Farm-to-Table Symposium | Dr. David Montgomery
Our latest Symposium was another fascinating evening of learning and networking for our North Texas farmers, ranchers, and local food enthusiasts! This time we welcomed Dr. David Montgomery, MacArthur Fellow and professor of geomorphology at the University of Washington.
SWAC | The Heard Museum
We had our summer Supper with a Cause at The Heard Museum on June 9th, and it was a night to remember! The Seed Project Foundation hosted 80 wonderful people that came for one reason, to support The Heard.

SWAC | Winter 2022
We loved celebrating and supporting donation farm McKinney Roots with our 2021 Suppers with a Cause, but it was time to give another local nonprofit the spotlight. Our Winter Supper with a Cause on February 17th benefited the McKinney nonprofit preschool Holy Family School.
Farm Tour 2021 | Chefs for Farmers
It’s hard to believe it had been two whole years since our last farm tour, and it felt soooo good to get back on the bus! We loaded up 50 eager folks bright and early and headed out to the country for the day.
Gala in the Garden
We held our second ever Gala in the Garden on October 16th. The day was just beautiful, low 70s and sunny! The garden at Water Boy Farm has never looked better, thanks to Farm Director Jennifer Spring’s careful planning and months of work.
