Our Impact in 2022
Without a doubt, 2022 was the Seed Project Foundation’s biggest year ever, thanks to your support. We’re so proud of all the food we’ve grown, nonprofits we’ve supported, and new partners we’ve made in the community. Here’s a quick look at our impact this year!
SWAC | Winter 2022
We loved celebrating and supporting donation farm McKinney Roots with our 2021 Suppers with a Cause, but it was time to give another local nonprofit the spotlight. Our Winter Supper with a Cause on February 17th benefited the McKinney nonprofit preschool Holy Family School.
Welcome, McKinney Roots!
McKinney Roots occupies five acres in west McKinney. Over the last few years, they have grown and donated thousands of pounds of organic produce and eggs to organizations serving the food-insecure in Collin County.
One Heart McKinney
When COVID-19 became a global health crisis in March of 2020, the needs of the McKinney community changed overnight. Mayor of McKinney, George Fuller, City Manager, Paul Grimes and restaurateur, Rick Wells brought together a group of people from the public and private sectors to gain an understanding of the impact of the virus and maintain a pulse on the constant changes taking place.
A Visit to Blue Sky Therapeutic Riding & Respite
Going west on 380 you are sure to pass a number of towns each with the same small-town essentials, from the local gas stations, to the town halls and the two or three churches that dot the landscape, it almost all seems the same. But tucked a few miles north of 380 is the small town of Krugerville, Texas that is home to a special community of passionate and caring individuals.
Winter Supper with a Cause: Empty Bowls McKinney
Our first Supper with a Cause of the year is a wrap, and we have truly started the year off with a bang! After selling out in record time, fifty-three guests joined us at Harvest to celebrate Empty Bowls McKinney.

Winter Supper with a Cause: Hugs Cafe’s Prep Program
Hugs Café is a very special place. Just off the square in Downtown McKinney, Hugs is a restaurant staffed almost entirely by adults with special needs. It was a dream of founder Ruth Thompson.
Gala in the Garden
Seventy degrees and sunny, the perfect North Texas fall day. We sold out our first ever outdoor Gala in the Garden at Water Boy Farms weeks earlier and a dozen people were scattered on the farm, deep into event preparation for the night, with a little black cloud overhead; the forecast called for 90% severe storms at 8pm, exactly the time of our live auction.
