Fourth Annual Chef and Farmer Pot Luck

May 26, 2019

Easily our favorite event of the year, the fourth annual Chef and Farmer Pot Luck was held at Water Boy Farms on Memorial Day Weekend. Due to the never-ending rain this spring, it was too muddy to set a long table in the paddock as we usually do, but that wasn’t going to slow us down!

Over a hundred farmers, ranchers, chefs, restaurateurs, local food advocates, and members of the press enjoyed cocktails in the barnyard together, networking and making new connections.

Attendees included Teresa Davenport from Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance, Farmer Marie from Eden’s Organic CSA and Garden Center, Jack Neubauer from Pure Land Farm, Taylor Rause and Tanner Agar from Rye in Downtown McKinney, Kaci and Robert Lyford from Patina Green Home and Market, Nanci Taylor and Maria Whitworth from Edible Magazine DFW, Jeff and Lee Bednar from Profound Foods, and Kim Pierce from Dallas Morning News.

The spread was phenomenal as usual, including smoked brisket tacos, grilled local lamb chops, deviled eggs, squash casserole, tomatoes stuffed with fresh ricotta, and salads brimming with bright edible flowers. It’s no wonder we consider this the best meal of the year!
